COVID-19 Quick Advice: Money, debt & welfare

The coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has already caused significant financial hardship for many households, as people have suffered the loss of employment or seen their income reduced and outgoings rise.

While the Government has put in place schemes offering assistance for employers and the self-employed, the rapid and often acute impact of the crisis means that many people are already suffering financial hardship and debt.

Record numbers of people have applied for Universal Credit over recent weeks and the fallout from the crisis is still unfolding with thousands of households facing uncertainty about their future finances.
